A LOVE LETTER TO THE OTHER CARD CARRYING MEMBERS OF THE FANS & FRIENDS IN “THE PETULA CLARK APPRECIATION SOCIETY”
FROM (please don't take offense)
CARD HOLDER #001.

Thanks to Bonnie and to Jim Pierson many of your posted comments and E-mails regarding “Solitude & Sunshine” have been forwarded on to me. You can't possibly know how much your acceptance of what was a true labor of love for both of us means to me.

Like most of you, I work hard, plod along, have my good and not so good days. Your appreciation of my songs and Petula's re-invention of so many of them buoys me when I'm down and when I'm feeling in my cups your words about this long promised but too long in coming project bring the kind of smiles to this lined and seasoned face that have too long been missing.

Again, because it comes from true PC FANS, your approval of our collaboration means everything to me. To further prove just how much I value your criticism I have taken to heart the suggestions many of you made about changing the discs' cover (Frankly I never liked the original photograph on the album either.) CD's with the new cover are due next week and I think when you see it you'll agree that this revised “Solitude & Sunshine” jacket captures the mood of the disc perfectly.

And, look at it this way, less than 1000 discs were released with the first jacket so those of you who own the original have a true collectors item. By the way the reason “Solitude & Sunshine” is only available by mail order and at Clark and McKuen concerts at the moment is because I am looking for just the right label to place it for mass distribution. I hope to make an announcement regarding wider distribution soon.

Until next time, LOVE and more,

Rod
